Happy New Years!

It is 10:02 on New Years Eve and Don and Will are both in bed. I am sitting on the floor of the den with a heater by my feet, watching "Left Behind World at War" on tv. Guess I will be bringing in the new year by myself.

Hope everyone has a wonderful beginning to 2009!

My day

It is Tuesday and I am at home with Will. He will be home with me for the rest of the week. I hope to work on potty training him this week. Not sure how it will go since he is more interested in playing and watching tv. I need to put him in big boy undies to see how that goes.

I had an awesome trip to Walgreens last night. Check it out in my new "Year of Savings" blog.

Ok for my day today:

  • finish folding and put away the clean laundry
  • straighten up the pantry
  • finish putting away Christmas items
  • work on potty training Will

I know there are more things I need to work on, but I figure it may take me a while to do that list.

Cleaning the house...

Why is it that once Christmas is over, the house looks worse than it ever has? I have taken down three of our four trees and have almost everything packed away. But now my house looks worse than it did before Christmas. I have the day to myself and have managed to get one tree taken down and put away, but have way too much other things to get done in the house. I have clean laundry to put away and the Christmas dishes to put away. I have about three hours before I have to leave to get Will so I had better get off my computer and clean this house. Maybe I can post some progress tonight.

update: all trees are packed away and the boxes are put away. I have started vaccuuming the den and now have the living room floor completely clean and ready to vaccuum it also. It's 2:30 and I have to leave at 4 to get Will.... plan to tackle the kitchen before leaving to get him.

Will and his toys

My parents got Will a play cell phone for Christmas. It is one from Target that we can record a message for him. It also has a child voice asking if you want to come out to play. We told him that it is Cooper a little girl from daycare. Everytime he hears the voice, he will put the phone to his ear and say "Cooper I am at home not at daycare."

We also got him a V Smile system. When you turn it on, a graphic comes on the tv screen and it says V Smile. Will always says "cheese" when he hears it.... it is so cute.

He is also my bottomless pit when it comes to eating. I can feed him a huge meal and ten minutes later he will come up to us saying "Momma I'm hungry"

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn left today for her dad's. As soon as we got to the airport, she said she didn't want to go. I hated putting her on the plane and watching her leave. This time Don and Will were able to go to the gate with us and watch her leave. It was fun to watch Will as he saw the planes take off and come into the gate.

Kaitlyn has called to tell us that she is there. She sat next to anothe unaccompanied minor and said they had fun on the plane.

She will be home in just over a week... I can't wait! I miss her so much when she is gone to her dad's. But I know she will have fun. She is probably opening her presents at her dad's right now.

My new years resolution....

I am making my resolution right now. I will save money this year and cut my grocery budget to $200 a month. I think I can do this especially with Will potty training and won't be in pull ups much longer.

My other resolution is to cook more meals at home. We eat out way too much and at my parents house way too much. I want to be able to sit down with my family at my kitchen table to have supper. So I will be shopping for more food while cutting my budget.

My last resolution is to declutter my house. I want to be able to find what I am looking for whenever I need it not four months later. This is one reason we are spending too much at the store because we can never find what we need. We end up with two of something because we have misplaced things.

So keep up with me and see how I do. I have started a new blog just for my savings... check it out at savingsomemoney.blogspot.com

It's Christmas time!

I love this holiday... but it is also bittersweet. My loving Grandmommy has been dead now for 9 years. I let the anniversary get by me this year without going to see her.. which I so wanted to do. I know it would just be her headstone and not her but I always feel closer to her there. She never got to meet my children but I can see what she would be doing if she came to my house right now. She would be standing there with one hand on her side and the other pointing at me and my messy house.

I am pryaing that we are all well for Christmas. Don is in bed now with a stomach virus that mom had yesterday. It only lasts one day, but I pray that the rest of us don't come down with it now.

The kids are all excited about it being Christmas. Will has been begging to open his gifts, so we let the kids each open one gift today. They opened movies which Kaitlyn has already watched hers. I look forward to watching them tomorrow open their gifts and then on Christmas Day to see what Santa brought them.

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope everyone has a blessed holiday and get everything you were wishing for.

Cleaning....

I so need some help in cleaning this house. My son doesn't understand that you are suppose to put up one thing before getting out something else. My living room looks like a tornado has hit it as does the den. I am sure his room looks just as bad.

We were suppose to go to Christmas on the Square today but I am still sick. It is about 35 outside today so I don't think we will be going this year. I don't need to be outside with it this cold. I did finally go to the doctor today since I was up half of the night coughing.

so Iam rambling... but my thoughts are jumbled up in my head too. I need to get off the couch and clean the house some.

ENOUGH!!!

I have had it with being sick! My cold is getting worse and I don't have the time to take off to take care of myself this week. I am suppose to take several students to a convention next week and now I think I have bronchitis. I hope that I can knock it out before it gets that bad with some OTC meds, but I don't have high hopes about it.

Kaitlyn was still running a low grade fever last night so she is home again today. Dh is staying home with her today and I hope her fever does not come back today. She needs to be in school since she has already missed several days last month due to an illness.

It seems like this year has been the roughest on us with illnesses and everything else.... I can tell you that I will be so glad when this year is over. And I pray that next year is better.

My sickly family

Just when I thought we were all over being sick.... Kaitlyn comes down with a fever. She has no other symptoms, just running a fever. Saturday it was 102, yesterday it was 101, today it is 99. I have put a call in for a nurse to call me to see if I need to take her to the dr. I also have the beginnings of a head cold.... mainly sinus. Dh is coughing. At least Will is well (knock on wood!).

So I am home with Kaitlyn today... she says she feels better but hasn't asked me for anything to eat yet. Guess I can work on the house and get things clean.

Jackpot!!!!!

We were out of bread and cokes, so on our way home from my parents house today we decided to head to Walgreens. I refuse to go to Walmart unless I have to, so we thought this would be a quick stop. I picked up a few things I knew I didn't have coupons for and checked out through the cosmetic counter. Dh came up with some candy he loves so I told him he had to pay for the second checkout. Once we had paid and were about to leave the lady behind the counter says "Oh you should have gotten a discount." Dh was in his fire jacket and because he was wearing that, he would have gotten 15% off. WOW! I now know that we will be shopping there more as the sales allow and let him pay all the time now. I will even be getting my Christmas pictures there so I can get 15% off the 9.99 cards. Now I am checking out their ad for this week to see what we need to stockup on. I really don't need alot of groceries this time, but will stock up on things for my Christmas cooking.

My little dancers.

Kaitlyn and Will keep pushing the on button on the dog Don got me for Valentines Day. It's a dalmation dressed as a fireman and plays a song. Once the music is on the kids start dancing. It is so funny to see Kaitlyn dancing to the music and then Will gets out there and starts wiggling his bottom. I will have to see if I can catch it on video and post it.

My artist!

Kaitlyn is becoming a little artist. I think she needs to take some classes but finding the time for them will be the problem.

The other day she cut out a horse from a sheet of paper.... without drawing it first. Then she drew designs on it.

I think we are going to get her a good art set for Christmas.

Go Kaitlyn!!!

Kaitlyn had a soccer tournament today. Last Saturday her team finished the season in a tied game with the second place team. They ended the season in first place. Then came the tournament. Because we were in first place, they played their first game at 11:00 today. We bundled up and headed to the field. They won that game and had an hour to rest before the final game. The final game started with her team playing the second place team.... the team we had already beat once before then tied... who are also the team they practiced with every Monday night.

It was a long game with our team scoring in the first quarter. They went through to the fourth quarter of keeping the other team from scoring, when they scored. This tied the game with not enough time in the game to score again. Our kids were already tired... the other team had played for two hours straight at this time. We began overtime of 5 minute quarters. Neither team scored in the first two overtimes.... then in the third overtime, the other team scored. Kaitlyn's team did not have enough time to score. This ended the soccer season.

It was a wild game!!! The parents were just as excited as the kids were about the game. I now haev a sore throat from all the yelling and my legs hurt from standing and jumping. I hae pictures but have to wait until we get them developed since they are on the 35mm camera.

I am so proud of my daughter... she went after the ball today and did such a great job. Before this game she was saying she didn't want to play again, but once the game was over, she was saying she wanted to play again. Now to wait for the next season.

A good update!

Will is on the mend! No fever today and he was more like normal.... he is sitting in my lap right now trying to type with me while he sings to me. I am so thankful that he is getting better! He really had me worried for a while!

I have a cold now. I am sure it is from the stress of worrying over Will. Don is out of town this week and I have told him that I deserve a vacation when he gets home.

the full story

I was telling about the ordeal we had with Will before we had to rush to the ER on Friday.

We took Will to see the NP at the Children's Clinic on Thursday with a headache and a 102 fever. He woke up from his nap at daycare crying and they couldn't get him to stop crying. I sent Don to get him at 3:30. She couldn't find anything that would be causing a 102 temp. So she sent us home to give him Motrin for the temp and benadryl for the clear fluid she saw in one ear. She told us that if he got worse to come back in to the office on Friday or take him to the Gallatin office on Saturday.

Friday morning, Will woke up crying. Every time he moved he would cry saying his head hurt. When Don finally got him up, he wouldn't move his head. He was still running a high fever also. So I called the pediatrician and got another appointment with the doctor that we like. We took him in and Dr. Rundus. She did an exam of Will and a strep test. She also wanted to do a finger prick to take a blood sample. The strep test was positive so she didn't do any more tests. She also said that she was going to rule out meningitis. She gave us an antibiotic and told us to call the office in the afternoon to give her an update on who he was doing.

Will laid around all day long and cried anytime we moved him. He was real lethargic most of the day also. We stayed at my parents house most of the day and finally came home around 6:30. About 7:30 Dr. Rundus called the house. (she was on call that night) She wanted to check on Will and once I told her how he had been all day long, had me to see if I could get him to move his head. He was holding his head stiff at this time, so she told us that she wanted us to take him to the ER. She was concerned about the way he was acting now.

So we left the house around 8:00 on Friday night on our way to the ER in Gallatin. We called our parents and told them. Kaitlyn had already decided to spend the night with my parents, so she was taken care of. We got to the ER about 9:00 and was taken back to a room.

It wasn't long after being taken to the room that a young ER doctor came in and introduced himself. He said they had been in contact with Dr. Rundus and knew why we were there. He did an exam of will by trying to move his head . He told us that they would hook Will up to an IV and give him some meds to help relax him. They were going to so a spinal tap once the meds kicked in.

Will did really well during the spinal tap. He only cried out once and that was when the needle went in. At first the dr wanted us both to leave the room, then he said I could stay and help. So I helped to hold Will in a fetal position and let him know that mommy was right there. Once the meds kicked in, Will was a different person.... it was almost funny to see him laying there and point to things with this really silly grin on his face. My uncle was coming in from Nashville and stopped to check on us. Will gave him a silly grin and my uncle laughed.

The spinal tap results came back clear (what they call a champagne results... meaning that it had no other cells in it other than spinal fluid) Will's white count was high, but we already knew he had strep throat. So the diagnoses was a very bad case of strep. They did give him a strong antibiotic through his IV along with the morphine and Valium. Will was feeling better before we left, so much that he wanted a popscicle.

Saturday morning Will woke up acting better than he did on Friday. By 11:00 he wanted something to eat which was a huge improvement. He didn't run a high fever until 5:00 that night. He even played in the floor and watched tv most of the day.

Now it is Sunday, and he woke up and was saying his head hurt. He has had his meds this morning and now we are watching Hook on tv. Don and Kaitlyn have gone to Sunday School. Don also leaves today for a week long school. If Will runs a fever today, I will have to stay home for another day.

I am ready for him to feel better.... this has been a long few days.

Our scare!

I was on my way home from work yesterday when daycare called. I could hear Will crying through the phone. They said he woke up from his nap and started crying saying his head hurt. They couldn't get him to stop crying and he was running a 102 temp. I got ahold of Don and he went to get Will. I called the doctors office and was told to bring him in. He had stopped crying by the time we got there and had motrin so his fever was down. The NP saw him and said after her examination of him, that there was not anything that showed her why he would have a 102 fever. His ears were clear and his throat was fine. She told us to keep giving him motrin for the fever and headache and give him benadryl for the drainage .

be back later dr just called and we are to go to the er. oh no!!!!

The end.......

yes it is the end of an era..... I am preparing for the yard sale and have decided to sell my maternity clothes. So tonight while Don had the kids at soccer practice, I was working on the yard sale items. So I stood in my parents garage and emptied storage after storage bin of clothes.... then came across the bin of maternity clothes that I had already decided to sale. Those I didn't have a problem with.... it was the other box of maternity clothes that I brought out. This is the box of clothes that I have been holding onto.... just in case. But I have decided that it is time to sell them. So I was all alone in the garage, hanging up my favorite maternity clothes, and was getting more depressed the more I hung up. I know we are making the right decision for our family to not have another child, but I still wonder about that last baby.... the one who will never be.

I loved being pregnant (minus the morning sickness and preterm labor). And loved being able to wear maternity clothes..... because it meant that I was showing.

So it's the end..... I will sell my maternity clothes this weekend and say goodbye to the one who will never be.

For Sale!

It's yard sale time again! I didn't have one during my fall break, but my dad has decided to have one this coming weekend. Of course, he is on crutches so that leaves me and my mom to get things ready. So far Don and I have carried about 10 storage bins over to their house and I have started pricing things. Mom and I also went upstairs and went through things there. If we sell half of what we put out, it will be a good sale.

First sleepover!

Kaitlyn had her first sleep over Friday night. It was so much fun. We fixed them up in her room on the floor and they watched tv and played until around 11:00. On Saturday, we went outside and carved pumpkins. Kaitlyn refused to put her hand in the gooey mess inside. Mary had both hands inside her pumpkin. Will also refused to touch it. So my mom and I ended up digging out two pumpkins for the kids. Then Don came home with a large pumpkin so I could carve it myself.

Kaitlyn can't wait to have another friend over and go to Mary's house to spend the night also.

Saturday, October 11, 2008

It's almost over....

It is Saturday and my fall break is almost over. I only have one more day and I have to take Kaitlyn to her grandmother for a visit.

Today Kaitlyn and I cleaned out her closet and straightened everything up. We moved things in her closet so that now she can reach her clothes and hang them up without help. She also decided that she doesn't need. Now I just have to finish straightening up the storage room so that I can get everything in it.

Kaitlyn had a soccer game today and they won again. Her team has not lost a game yet... and today probably would have been one that could have been lost. I am glad she is having fun playing soccer and loves playing it too.

Day 4....

Today we went to the pumpkin patch. It was so much fun! We loaded up on wagons being pulled by a tractor for a hay ride through the fields, barn, creek and then on the field with the pumpkins. The kids (10 from Will's daycare) got off the wagon and then ran for the pumpkins. Will picked up a fairly good size pumpkin and then found one for me. It was so cute watching him run all over the field with his friends. We then were taken by wagon to the barn where there were farm animals to pet, corn to play in, and a maze. There was also hayrolls to climb on and story time. We then had the kids faces painted and then had lunch. We got back to the daycare just in time for nap time.

Now Will is napping at home and I am resting. I never knew how tiring it would be to chase 10 little ones around.

Tomorrow is the homecoming parade. I have told the daycare that I will help with the little ones again tomorrow, but I think they may leave two of the smallest ones at the daycare tomorrow.

And I will post new pics just as soon as I get off the recliner.

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Day 3....

ok so it is raining.... I'm not really bummed about missing out on the pumpkin patch since we REALLY! need the water. So now the trip will be tomorrow. So now I have the day to finish working on my house.... yesterday I got almost all the laundry done and put away. Will's room is straight (just need to go back and make the bed), Kaitlyn's room looks better but it isn't finished. I need to clean out her closet and get things put back in order. I also need to straighten the living room and clean off the kitchen table. I also still need to work in the storage room and get it cleaned out. I also need to go to my mom's and straighten the upstairs for them.... They have a prospective buyer coming tomorrow to check out the house.

Today I will be going to eat lunch with Kaitlyn.... Don is doing Fire Prevention with her school today so there is a chance that we both can eat lunch with her today. I would pick her up at school but I can't find my pickup card that you must have to pick her up.

We are heading to my MIL's this afternoon. Will said he wanted to see Granny and Great-grandma is there too so it will be fun to go see both of them and Neal.

Ok off to clean yet again.... I have about 30 minutes to clean before needing to leave for lunch.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Day two...

It is day two of my fall break.... and so far I have a mountain of clean clothes to fold and the dishwasher emptied and loaded back up. I have an appointment to get my hair cut this afternoon. I still need to clean the rest of the kitchen/ dining room and straighten the living room. I also want to get the kids rooms clean and work my way to the storage room.... I must get it straight soon. I would like to get my Christmas items from my parents house. They think they may have someone who would like to buy their house so they will need my things moved out soon. I have way too much stuff left at mom and dad's house.

Tomorrow (if it doesn't rain) I will be going with Will to the pumpkin patch. I am looking forward to going with Will. Friday is homecoming so we will go to the parade and then to the game.

Ok getting off the computer to straighten the house up some now..... will post my progress later. (I hope!)

Fall!

It's October.... this week we have my dad's birthday (happy birthday to you yesterday Daddy!), my fall break, and Fire Prevention Week. Oh and it is Homecoming week this week too. So here is it October 6, and I am sitting in a quite house... Kaitlyn is at school, Will is at daycare, and DH is doing Fire Prevention at one of the schools. I need to get off the couch and clean the house, but it is the first day of my fall break and I want to enjoy it.

I love the fall season! Outside my open window are birds chirping.... I watch the tractors and trailors going up and down my road all day. They are cutting t"backer" down the road and the farmers have been up and down the road all day long. We went to MIL's house Sat night and I loved the drive. The trees are turning colors now and it is a beautiful drive around our county. Most people drive to the mountains to see beautiful leaves.... all I have to do is drive down the road.

The kids are getting so big.... I took their pictures at mom and dad's on Sunday and it made me wonder where my little ones went. Kaitlyn is now 7 1/2 and Will 2 1/2. They are so busy running around the houseplaying and following their daddy around. We are working on potty training Will. When did my babies grow up?

I need a break!

But it isn't coming anytime soon!! I need a nice long hot bubble bath but can't because I don't have the time. I would love to finish reading a book during the evening instead of having to wait until the kids go to bed. Dh is working more hours lately... we really need to money to help pay off some debt so I really can't complain. But I really feel overwhelmed with things. I have girl scouts and Sunday School class... but I love both of those things. I have my work and have so much going on there but I normally leave it at work when I head home. I have my two wonderful kids and wouldn't trade them for anything...... well I might on the days they are being horrible.

I can't even finish a post because of the kids... guess it is time to get them in bed and myself ready for tomorrow. :sigh:

Ok I give...

I totally forgot to come back and post my 6 facts. I also totally fogot to update here... that is what I get for having to go back to work.

So without further ado here it goes.....

1. I so want to be organized in my life, but it never shows... my house is a mess, my office is a mess, my car is a mess.

2. I have way too many projects started and can't find the time to finish them... I have about three afghans started, two stockings, and no telling how many cross-stitch projects. Now I am working on crayon rolls with my mom and have three started that I haven't had time to finish.

3. I secretly want another child but have decided that it is in our family's best interest to not have another one.

4. I hate to cook! I cook because I have to but prefer not to. My family makes fun of me because everyone in my family loves to cook but I don't.

5. I wish I could quit my job! Or at least cut back on something

6. You have no idea how much thinking it took to come up with 6 facts about me!

now I tag Heidi!

Saturday, August 9, 2008

Tag I'm it.....

Jackie has tagged me... now I must post 6 quirky facts about myself..... no clue what I should post but maybe I can think of some soon.... I will be back to finish it.

Fair week!

This is our county fair! We have been so busy with it all this week. On Sunday, I took in our entires. Monday afternoon we got Kaitlyn all dressed up in her orange formal for the pagent. She looked so beautiful.... the judges were blind.... in my opinion that is. Tuesday we went for the pedal pull and battle of the battery powered vehicles. Kaitlyn placed first in the battle of power wheels. She completed the track in 57 seconds. Thursday we went for Will's baby pagent. He can be in it one more year after this one. He placed 2nd place in the pagent.

I am so proud of my two kids!

Tomorrow I will go pick up our pictures and my table setting we entered in the fair. We didn't enter as much this year as we have in the past... normally I compete against my mom in cooking but neither one of us entered food this year. But I have a year to get ready for it again.

Yuck!

I hate summer colds! The week after vaction bible school and the week I start school this year, I come down with a cold. I think I got too stressed out from dealing with both kids alone while teaching vbs. I even had to send Will home one day because he wouldn't listen to me. So here it is the first week of the school year and I can't breath through my nose. I hate it!

water fun at Mema's

I bought the kids a water sprinkler to play with at Mema's house. Here they are today having a ball!

Beech Bend Park

Our staycation continues with a trip to Bowling Green and Beech Bend Park. I had checked out the prices, and if we went at 4:00 pm, it was half price. So with thwo kids who wear themselves out fast, that sounded like the best deal for us. Three hours in an amusement/water park was all we needed with our two kids. So we left the house at 2 thinking that Will would take a nap on the way there... no deal! We stopped to eat at SteaknShake. I wish we could have spent more time in BG, it was Corvette Homecoming weekend. I bet the kids would have loved to see all the vettes there. (I know the biggest kids would have LOL)

We finally get into the park and it is not crowded at all. The longest we had to wait for a ride was maybe 5 minutes because it started right as we got to it. Kaitlyn wanted to ride lots of rides but we had to remind her that Will wanted to ride them also. We went to the petting farm there also and fed the goats. I think they scared Kaitlyn some because they kept chasing her for more food.

The water park was a blast! They had this wonderful kids area and the kids played there the entire time. I did get Kaitlyn to go down the water slide with me twice. The first time, she loved it. The second time we had a mishap at the end and she went under the water unprepared. She got a little choked on it.

I was not prepared for our staycation because once again I forgot the camera. So no pictures of Will's first fish, no pictures of the kids feeding the goats, and no pictures of the kids playing in the water.

Fishing!

We took the kids fishing this evening. It was so much fun to watch Will trying to fish... he actually caught the only fish... or I should say I caught it with his pole because he was running away from me. The pond we were at was a house down from where I grew up... the road is highly traveled which means we had to keep a close eye on Will. Will's fish was about 3 inches long... and the hook was barely in it, which means I was lucky. Don and I bought a day fishing license so we could fish with the kids. What is amazing is my brother use to fish at this pond before we were required to have fishing licenses.

Kaitlyn was upset that she didn't catch a fish, but we reminded her that the last time we went fishing, she caught the only fish and it was larger than Will's 3 inch fish.

updated hair cut pics

Here are the before and after pics of my hair cut. Now please understand that I had to take the pics all by myself.

Hair cut!

It is time to get rid of this long hair. So in just over an hour I am getting my hair cut.... about 3 inches of it will be coming off. I will post pics once I get back.

Staycation

We are going on a staycation! Meaning we are staying home and taking the kids to an amusement park about an hour away. It's neat amusement park.... Beech Bend Park. It has rides, mini golf, petting zoo, and a water park! I hope the kids enjoy it, right now it will only be the four of us going. Kaitlyn has been before... Will, well I was pg with him the last time we went. I didn't get to enjoy the park when we went the last time, but I was pg, suffering from morning sickness, and was hot!

Cookies!

I made cake mix cookies today and let me tell you there were delicious!

Take 1 cake mix, add 2 eggs and 1 stick of margarine (softened). Mix well, and then add chips. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.

YUM! I think I only ate cookies today.. but I did make a trip to Sonic for onion rings... LOL!

My blog....

Needs some work! I need a new background and some other things added to it, but I know nothing about blogging... other than posting my thoughts.

So anyone out there have any ideas?

School...

starts in just over two weeks... I am so not ready for the summer to be over! I am not ready for the school year to be here, I have too much still to do for school. I am normally finished with the schedules by this time, but I haven't finished them.

I am not ready to be back in work clothes instead of shorts. I am not ready to get up at 5:15 every morning instead of 7:00. I am not ready to going back to cleaning on weekends because I am so tired from working.

Kaitlyn's pagaent dress

Kaitlyn wants to be in the Fair pagaent in August. So while she was gone, I checked out the dress store in town. I found several dresses for her to try. So yesterday we took her to the dress store and she tried on lots of dresses. We had it narrowed down to two dresses. We liked the blue one and she liked the orange one. I called my mom to come helo with the decision. In the end, I put a beautiful orange chiffon dress with rhinestones along with shoes and a necklace on layaway. I promised her that we would pick it up next week. Now we need to work on her walking in her shoes and turning and smiling. The last time she was in the fair pagaent, she was more interested in watching the carnival rides instead of smiling at the judges.

Kaitlyn is home!

Kaitlyn got home last night! She looks like she grew a inch while she was gone. When she saw us at the airport last night, she ran to us. Will ran to her and got the first hug. He missed her alot, and would cry some nights while she was gone.

Will also slept in his bed all night last night! I was so proud of him! Of course we still had someone in our bed... Kaitlyn slept at our feet. I told Don that we could move her to her bed, but he didn't want to... seems like Will and I weren't the only one who missed her.

Busy weeks

I have three weeks before school starts and they are full! This week, I have to work on schedules, have a manicure, an inservice, pick up Kaitlyn at the airport, and dh has to work at the races all weekend. Then next week dh has a conference to go to Monday through Wednesday. I will be home with both kids since I have missed Kaitlyn so much as has Will. The week after that I have vacation bible school all week. Dh has another conference where he will be gone Sunday through Thursday. Thursday of that week is the Fire Dept swim party. Friday is the closing for VBS. The only time we will have free time in next Friday and Saturday (I think). We haven't been able to go on a family vacation with Kaitlyn going to her dad's and we have promised to take her to Beach Bend. I just hope we get to.

Daddy!!!!

That is what Will is saying right now! He is looking out the window saying I see daddy! He can be so adorable... and yet be a little terror at the same time. He is also standing ona box of hotwheels saying 2, 4, 5, 6 go... he is trying to count before he jumps on the floor. When did my baby grow up?

Bitten!

I have been bitten! There is no other way to describe it. I have been bitten by the baby bug! I went to visit with my granddad and family today and got to hold a 2 week old baby boy. My goodness, he was so tiny. I had forgotten how small a newborn is... and it wasn't that long ago that Will was a baby. William Mason was so cute. His mom (my cousin) needed to go to walmart with my aunt, so my mom and I volunteered to stay there with the baby and his 3 year old sister. I got to hold that sweet baby boy and cuddle with him.

I want one now!

Too much to do

I have too much going on. I still need to finish my work for the next school year. I have to finish sorting out my crafts for vacation bible school. I have a new girl scout troop to get things ready for. And I have two kids... three if you count my dh.

At least my house is clean... I have spent the past several weeks working with my SCC girls cleaning my house. I still need to finish a room or two, but my house looks so good.

On the flip side of things, Kaitlyn comes home in 8 days! YIPEE!!! She is on her way to California with her dad and family. But she will be home soon! I wanted to have her room painted and the border up but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe soon.

Life in the country with kids

I grew up here... I was so ready to leave this town when I grew up, but now here I am years later raising my two kids about 5 minutes from where I grew up. I love it now... but there are downfalls for living in a small town. It's summer and the only thing to do is the public pool, the small library, and the two city parks. We do have a stocked pond to fish in, if you had your fishing license. But in order to be able to do anything fun with the kids, we have to drive out of town. We already have plans to take the kids to Bowling Green to Beach Bend Park when Kaitlyn gets home, but have to fit it in between vacation bible school and getting ready for the school year.
