Will is on the mend! No fever today and he was more like normal.... he is sitting in my lap right now trying to type with me while he sings to me. I am so thankful that he is getting better! He really had me worried for a while!
I have a cold now. I am sure it is from the stress of worrying over Will. Don is out of town this week and I have told him that I deserve a vacation when he gets home.

the full story
I was telling about the ordeal we had with Will before we had to rush to the ER on Friday.
We took Will to see the NP at the Children's Clinic on Thursday with a headache and a 102 fever. He woke up from his nap at daycare crying and they couldn't get him to stop crying. I sent Don to get him at 3:30. She couldn't find anything that would be causing a 102 temp. So she sent us home to give him Motrin for the temp and benadryl for the clear fluid she saw in one ear. She told us that if he got worse to come back in to the office on Friday or take him to the Gallatin office on Saturday.
Friday morning, Will woke up crying. Every time he moved he would cry saying his head hurt. When Don finally got him up, he wouldn't move his head. He was still running a high fever also. So I called the pediatrician and got another appointment with the doctor that we like. We took him in and Dr. Rundus. She did an exam of Will and a strep test. She also wanted to do a finger prick to take a blood sample. The strep test was positive so she didn't do any more tests. She also said that she was going to rule out meningitis. She gave us an antibiotic and told us to call the office in the afternoon to give her an update on who he was doing.
Will laid around all day long and cried anytime we moved him. He was real lethargic most of the day also. We stayed at my parents house most of the day and finally came home around 6:30. About 7:30 Dr. Rundus called the house. (she was on call that night) She wanted to check on Will and once I told her how he had been all day long, had me to see if I could get him to move his head. He was holding his head stiff at this time, so she told us that she wanted us to take him to the ER. She was concerned about the way he was acting now.
So we left the house around 8:00 on Friday night on our way to the ER in Gallatin. We called our parents and told them. Kaitlyn had already decided to spend the night with my parents, so she was taken care of. We got to the ER about 9:00 and was taken back to a room.
It wasn't long after being taken to the room that a young ER doctor came in and introduced himself. He said they had been in contact with Dr. Rundus and knew why we were there. He did an exam of will by trying to move his head . He told us that they would hook Will up to an IV and give him some meds to help relax him. They were going to so a spinal tap once the meds kicked in.
Will did really well during the spinal tap. He only cried out once and that was when the needle went in. At first the dr wanted us both to leave the room, then he said I could stay and help. So I helped to hold Will in a fetal position and let him know that mommy was right there. Once the meds kicked in, Will was a different person.... it was almost funny to see him laying there and point to things with this really silly grin on his face. My uncle was coming in from Nashville and stopped to check on us. Will gave him a silly grin and my uncle laughed.
The spinal tap results came back clear (what they call a champagne results... meaning that it had no other cells in it other than spinal fluid) Will's white count was high, but we already knew he had strep throat. So the diagnoses was a very bad case of strep. They did give him a strong antibiotic through his IV along with the morphine and Valium. Will was feeling better before we left, so much that he wanted a popscicle.
Saturday morning Will woke up acting better than he did on Friday. By 11:00 he wanted something to eat which was a huge improvement. He didn't run a high fever until 5:00 that night. He even played in the floor and watched tv most of the day.
Now it is Sunday, and he woke up and was saying his head hurt. He has had his meds this morning and now we are watching Hook on tv. Don and Kaitlyn have gone to Sunday School. Don also leaves today for a week long school. If Will runs a fever today, I will have to stay home for another day.
I am ready for him to feel better.... this has been a long few days.

Our scare!
I was on my way home from work yesterday when daycare called. I could hear Will crying through the phone. They said he woke up from his nap and started crying saying his head hurt. They couldn't get him to stop crying and he was running a 102 temp. I got ahold of Don and he went to get Will. I called the doctors office and was told to bring him in. He had stopped crying by the time we got there and had motrin so his fever was down. The NP saw him and said after her examination of him, that there was not anything that showed her why he would have a 102 fever. His ears were clear and his throat was fine. She told us to keep giving him motrin for the fever and headache and give him benadryl for the drainage .
be back later dr just called and we are to go to the er. oh no!!!!

The end.......
yes it is the end of an era..... I am preparing for the yard sale and have decided to sell my maternity clothes. So tonight while Don had the kids at soccer practice, I was working on the yard sale items. So I stood in my parents garage and emptied storage after storage bin of clothes.... then came across the bin of maternity clothes that I had already decided to sale. Those I didn't have a problem with.... it was the other box of maternity clothes that I brought out. This is the box of clothes that I have been holding onto.... just in case. But I have decided that it is time to sell them. So I was all alone in the garage, hanging up my favorite maternity clothes, and was getting more depressed the more I hung up. I know we are making the right decision for our family to not have another child, but I still wonder about that last baby.... the one who will never be.
I loved being pregnant (minus the morning sickness and preterm labor). And loved being able to wear maternity clothes..... because it meant that I was showing.
So it's the end..... I will sell my maternity clothes this weekend and say goodbye to the one who will never be.

For Sale!
It's yard sale time again! I didn't have one during my fall break, but my dad has decided to have one this coming weekend. Of course, he is on crutches so that leaves me and my mom to get things ready. So far Don and I have carried about 10 storage bins over to their house and I have started pricing things. Mom and I also went upstairs and went through things there. If we sell half of what we put out, it will be a good sale.

First sleepover!
Kaitlyn had her first sleep over Friday night. It was so much fun. We fixed them up in her room on the floor and they watched tv and played until around 11:00. On Saturday, we went outside and carved pumpkins. Kaitlyn refused to put her hand in the gooey mess inside. Mary had both hands inside her pumpkin. Will also refused to touch it. So my mom and I ended up digging out two pumpkins for the kids. Then Don came home with a large pumpkin so I could carve it myself.
Kaitlyn can't wait to have another friend over and go to Mary's house to spend the night also.

It's almost over....
It is Saturday and my fall break is almost over. I only have one more day and I have to take Kaitlyn to her grandmother for a visit.
Today Kaitlyn and I cleaned out her closet and straightened everything up. We moved things in her closet so that now she can reach her clothes and hang them up without help. She also decided that she doesn't need. Now I just have to finish straightening up the storage room so that I can get everything in it.
Kaitlyn had a soccer game today and they won again. Her team has not lost a game yet... and today probably would have been one that could have been lost. I am glad she is having fun playing soccer and loves playing it too.

Day 4....
Now Will is napping at home and I am resting. I never knew how tiring it would be to chase 10 little ones around.
Tomorrow is the homecoming parade. I have told the daycare that I will help with the little ones again tomorrow, but I think they may leave two of the smallest ones at the daycare tomorrow.
And I will post new pics just as soon as I get off the recliner.

Day 3....
ok so it is raining.... I'm not really bummed about missing out on the pumpkin patch since we REALLY! need the water. So now the trip will be tomorrow. So now I have the day to finish working on my house.... yesterday I got almost all the laundry done and put away. Will's room is straight (just need to go back and make the bed), Kaitlyn's room looks better but it isn't finished. I need to clean out her closet and get things put back in order. I also need to straighten the living room and clean off the kitchen table. I also still need to work in the storage room and get it cleaned out. I also need to go to my mom's and straighten the upstairs for them.... They have a prospective buyer coming tomorrow to check out the house.
Today I will be going to eat lunch with Kaitlyn.... Don is doing Fire Prevention with her school today so there is a chance that we both can eat lunch with her today. I would pick her up at school but I can't find my pickup card that you must have to pick her up.
We are heading to my MIL's this afternoon. Will said he wanted to see Granny and Great-grandma is there too so it will be fun to go see both of them and Neal.
Ok off to clean yet again.... I have about 30 minutes to clean before needing to leave for lunch.

Day two...
It is day two of my fall break.... and so far I have a mountain of clean clothes to fold and the dishwasher emptied and loaded back up. I have an appointment to get my hair cut this afternoon. I still need to clean the rest of the kitchen/ dining room and straighten the living room. I also want to get the kids rooms clean and work my way to the storage room.... I must get it straight soon. I would like to get my Christmas items from my parents house. They think they may have someone who would like to buy their house so they will need my things moved out soon. I have way too much stuff left at mom and dad's house.
Tomorrow (if it doesn't rain) I will be going with Will to the pumpkin patch. I am looking forward to going with Will. Friday is homecoming so we will go to the parade and then to the game.
Ok getting off the computer to straighten the house up some now..... will post my progress later. (I hope!)

Fall!
It's October.... this week we have my dad's birthday (happy birthday to you yesterday Daddy!), my fall break, and Fire Prevention Week. Oh and it is Homecoming week this week too. So here is it October 6, and I am sitting in a quite house... Kaitlyn is at school, Will is at daycare, and DH is doing Fire Prevention at one of the schools. I need to get off the couch and clean the house, but it is the first day of my fall break and I want to enjoy it.
I love the fall season! Outside my open window are birds chirping.... I watch the tractors and trailors going up and down my road all day. They are cutting t"backer" down the road and the farmers have been up and down the road all day long. We went to MIL's house Sat night and I loved the drive. The trees are turning colors now and it is a beautiful drive around our county. Most people drive to the mountains to see beautiful leaves.... all I have to do is drive down the road.
The kids are getting so big.... I took their pictures at mom and dad's on Sunday and it made me wonder where my little ones went. Kaitlyn is now 7 1/2 and Will 2 1/2. They are so busy running around the houseplaying and following their daddy around. We are working on potty training Will. When did my babies grow up?
